About Hair Loss and Hair Loss Treatment

The first type of hair loss is called androgenic alopecia or ANA. Androgenic alopecia is the most common type of alopecia, affecting mostly males throughout the world. Androgenic alopecia is also categorically called male pattern baldness. Medical science holds the belief that the genes responsible for androgenic alopecia are not linked to specifically to the sex chromosomes.

From there, we deduce that instead of sex chromosomes, autosomal chromosomes are responsible for androgenic alopecia. That means this condition is hereditary, and can be passed on from one generation to another. In any case, the condition can become a recessive trait instead of a dominant trait in one generation and can resurface as a dominant trait in the next generation.

When the two chemical compounds interact, the result DHT or dihydrotestosterone latches on to specific chemical receptors in the hair cells themselves. Like other chemical catalysts, DHT causes vital changes in the hair cells themselves. Because tight, artistic braids are common with both males and females of the African-American community, their hairs become stressed and they eventual suffer from bald spots as a result thereafter.
