Follicular Unit Transplantation For Hair Loss

With follicular unit transplantation, the number of follicular units and hair shafts extracted increased significantly, sometimes as much as 25% of the original number. Apart from being relatively painless, this painstaking procedure also produces less obvious damage on the skin from whence the follicles are extracted from.

The Big Difference Of FUT

Here’s another interesting difference between follicular unit transplantation from older methods like plug transplants and scalp reduction techniques.

A competent hair transplant doctor capable of carrying out the microscopic extraction of the follicular units would not decide immediately how much was to be taken out. What would actually decide the size of the implant was the hair of the patient.

For example, if you have a bald spot that is 6 inches in diameter, the follicular units extracted would have to satisfy that balding region.

Another benefit with using this technique was that doctors could be painstakingly accurate in replicating the spread and growth of normal hair. If you would notice, normal hair growth presents different hair densities from the front (hairline) to the center (crown) to the back of the head. A more natural look can be achieved because the normal densities can be followed by the doctor. It’s more difficult, but definitely promising.

Since this procedure had been first developed extensively in the United States, it would be safer to have yours done in the country of origin. To be safe, do not try to save money by going to other countries, to wayward hair clinics to save thousands of dollars.

There are many unscrupulous pseudo-surgeons that may not be aware at all of procedure but may pretend that they do just to get your hard-earned money.

There are many reported cases of wayward hair clinics playing upon the gullibility of hair graft patients who don’t know any better. These cases are usually not prosecuted, because medical malpractice laws in the countries of origin are usually not potent enough.
