Folligen by Skin Biology is a topical anti-hair loss system used to halt the ravages of male pattern baldness. Developed by Skin Biology,

Folligen is placed alongside other illustrious topical remedies for androgenic alopecia such as minoxidil.

at makes this product special is the fact that Dr. Loren Pickart, the brain behind Folligen products, has developed copper-peptide or SRCPs.

Skin remodeling copper peptides are integrated into many Skin Biology products such as creams and sprays.

ere are 2 available products from the Folligen line, which includes a topical spray and cream. Copper peptides have been touted as being just as effective as other topical remedies to alopecia.

How It Work?

The main emphasis of the Folligen line of products is the work of copper peptides, which has been researched extensively and has been proven to stimulate the scalp and hair follicles on the cellular level.

The Folligen lotion contains the following ingredients: water, aloe vera, squalene, octyl palmitate, PEG-100 stearate, cetyl alcohol, copper peptides, stearic acid, beta-sitosterol, saw palmetto oil, polysorbate-80, allantoin, polypropylene glycol, herbal fragrances.

Other ingredients include tocopheryl acetate, retinyl palmitate, diazolinydinyl urea, methylparaben, propylparaben and diazolinydinyl urea. The Folligen cream on the other hand, is composed of the exact same ingredients. As for the Folligen Solution Therapy Spray, the ingredients are also similar.

Folligen is actually comprised of several products that have been combined differently for either men or women. To address hair thinning or hair loss in women, 6 different products are required for optimum results:

Hair Signals™ ($19.95)

Folligen Lotion ($21.95)

Folligen Cream ($33.95)

Folligen Solution Therapy Spray ($38.95)

Emu Oil S ($19.95)

Minoxidil 2% ($32.95)

User Reviews

Folligen has been garnering some positive responses from many users, especially first time users.

However, we would like to share an observation that we were able record by going through the health forums; people don’t like parabens. Unfortunately, Folligen contains at least 2 types of parabens.

One user review stated that parabens were not really good for the skin. We verified this with what the FDA guidelines actually said and we found out that that parabens is safe for use if the concentration is not too high. Parabens have been in use for many decades as a preservative for cosmetic and cosmeceutical products.

Possible Side Effects

Folligen produces the following potential side effects and disadvantages:

First, the product makes use of many inorganic and organic components. Multiple organic and inorganic components cause potential problems in some users with sensitive skin. If there are allergic reactions, bear in mind that the physical manifestation of the allergies would not be limited to the scalp only. In fact, there’s a large chance that allergic reactions might manifest in the arms, neck or even chest. To be safe, use only a small amount of the product in the beginning. It’s also good do a skin test to see whether you’re allergic to the product or not.

Another problem with Folligen is that it makes use of ingredients like saw palmetto, which have never undergone rigorous scientific testing. Scientific testing or pee-reviewed clinical trails are a basic requirement for food supplements, skin creams and even drugs. They are the basis; but unfortunately, many companies make use of these ingredients even if no such studies support the traditional claims.
