Jojoba Oil

Hair loss is major concern for many; this is why it is not unusual to see so many anti-hair loss products on the market. The search for a truly effective hair loss product is difficult. Often times, people spend time and money on various treatments that yield little to no results. Recently, more and more people are turning to natural treatments. Due to its all natural form and its effectiveness; the use of natural ingredients in treatments is a fast growing trend in the field of medicine.

This is because all natural products have very high nutritional value in its raw, unadulterated form. Lastly, natural products offer multiple benefits. You may have a product for hair loss or weight control, but it may also provide positive effects in terms of circulation, improve body metabolism and other factors. This benefit is shared by jojoba oil which is primarily used as a hair loss treatment but also has other wonderful benefits.

What Is Jojoba Oil?

Jojoba oil is the extract from the jojoba plant. The jojoba plant, simmondsia chinensis, is a shrub commonly found in Arizona, California and Mexico.

The oil of the jojoba seed is composed of fatty acids. In modern use, jojoba oil is harvested for use in many cosmetic products thanks to its high oxidative stability and physical similarity to human sebum. This is why jojoba oil is a much sought after resource and ingredient. Sebum is our natural moisturizer and does not cause any side effects in any part of the body. By having the same consistency, it is safe to apply jojoba oil without harmful side effects.

As stated, jojoba oil is a common ingredient in many cosmetic products due to its similarity to sebum. It can be easily found pure in health stores and specialty outlets. Those living in the California and Arizona area are fortunate to have access to wild jojoba seed markets.

Benefits

Jojoba oil directly affects the hair and scalp when it is applied directly (topical). The oil provides the hair with a special layer of protection allowing the hair to retain its natural moisture while at the same time protecting the individual strands from external elements and breakage.

Jojoba oil is also known to be effective against dandruff as it is able to break down dead skin cells and dried sebum. When applied directly to the scalp, the sebum like qualities of jojoba oil allows it to serve as a moisturizer.

How To Use Jojoba Oil?

Using jojoba oil on your scalp is simple:

After washing your hair and drying it, you can apply a liberal amount of jojoba oil into your hair and scalp.

To apply, simply pour a moderate amount of jojoba oil into your hand and apply directly to your hair and scalp.

Massage the oil into the scalp to ensure that the hair is fully covered from roots to tips.

Leave the oil on as you would a leave-on conditioner.

Be sure to avoid using other products when styling your hair so as to not remove the benefits of jojoba oil.
